Description
Gandi Chemical Solutions supplies Potassium Chloride Fertilizer 60% K2O (MOP / Potash) (CAS 7447-40-7) to blenders, distributors and commercial growers. Enquiries for Potassium Chloride Fertilizer 60% K2O are quoted against this listing. It is supplied as agricultural (granular and standard) grade. Packaging: 50kg bags, 1000kg bulk bags, bulk. Priced by quotation, with a current safety data sheet on every consignment.
Potassium Chloride Fertilizer 60% K2O, muriate of potash, is the potassium source most commercial programmes are built on: 60% K2O minimum, fully water-soluble, CAS 7447-40-7, formula KCl. It drives grain fill, tuber bulking and fruit quality, and it holds a crop together under drought and disease pressure. GCS supplies granular grade at 2-4 mm for spreading and standard grade for blending, in the familiar red-pink and white forms. The colour is trace iron oxide from the ore and makes no agronomic difference at the same analysis. Moisture is held at or below 0.5%. The chloride content is the one thing to check before ordering: on saline soils and on chloride-sensitive crops such as tobacco, avocado and some fruit, sulphate of potash is the correct product instead. Supplied in 50 kg bags, one-tonne bulk bags or loose in bulk.
Where potassium chloride fertilizer 60% k2o is used
Muriate of potash is the cheapest potassium per unit and the reason most potash in the world moves as chloride. It builds grain fill, tuber bulk and fruit quality, and it holds a crop together under drought and disease pressure.
- Potassium base dressing on cereals, maize, sugarcane and oilseeds
- Potash for root and tuber crops, particularly potatoes on chloride-tolerant varieties
- Plantation crops (oil palm, rubber, coffee, tea) on scheduled potash rounds
- Blending component in bulk-blended NPK programmes
- Pasture potassium replacement after repeated silage cuts
Key features
- Agricultural (granular and standard) grade. Red-pink or white granules and crystals, 2-4 mm granular.
- CAS 7447-40-7, KCl.
- Also ordered as Potassium chloride, Klotrix, Sylvite.
- Supplied in 50kg bags, 1000kg bulk bags, bulk, with larger units quoted on request.
Specification and grade
Granular or standard-grade potassium chloride at 60% K2O minimum, equivalent to around 50% potassium, CAS 7447-40-7, formula KCl, molecular weight 74.55 g/mol. Supplied in the familiar red-pink or white forms. The colour comes from trace iron oxide in the ore and does not affect agronomic performance. Moisture at or below 0.5%, fully water-soluble, granules 2-4 mm for spreading with a standard grade available for blending.
Handling and storage
Not classified as hazardous. Hygroscopic and mildly corrosive to mild steel when damp, so store sealed and dry and wash the spreader down after use. The chloride content is the agronomic caution rather than a safety one: on saline soils and on chloride-sensitive crops it is the wrong potassium source, and sulphate of potash should be quoted instead.
Packaging and supply
Packed in 50 kg bags on pallets, one-tonne bulk bags, or loose in bulk. Name the crop and say whether the soil carries any salinity. On tobacco, some fruit and certain vegetables the chloride matters enough to change the recommendation, and it is better caught at quotation than after spreading.

Common questions
What is the difference between muriate of potash and sulphate of potash?
The companion ion. MOP is potassium chloride at 60% K2O and is the cheaper source by a wide margin. SOP is potassium sulphate at around 50% K2O, carries sulphur instead of chloride, and is used where chloride would damage quality or where the soil is already saline. For most broadacre crops MOP is the correct and economical choice.
Which crops should not get MOP?
Chloride-sensitive ones: tobacco, avocado, some citrus and stone fruit, and certain vegetables where chloride affects taste or storage. Potatoes tolerate it in most varieties but quality-sensitive contracts sometimes specify SOP. If your buyer has written a specification, check it before ordering.
Does the red colour mean lower quality?
No. Red-pink MOP takes its colour from trace iron oxide left from the ore; white MOP has been through additional refining. Agronomically the two perform the same at the same K2O analysis. White grades cost more and are usually bought for soluble or specialty use, not for field spreading.
