Description
Gandi Chemical Solutions supplies Chloroprene Rubber CR2442 High Viscosity (CAS 9010-98-4) to manufacturers, water treatment plants and industrial processors. CR2442 is the high-viscosity grade, specified where the adhesive has to hold on a vertical surface without sagging and resist heat in the cured bond. Priced by quotation, with a current safety data sheet on every consignment.
The high-viscosity CR2442 grade is typically chosen where higher green strength or mechanical toughness is needed in the finished adhesive or rubber article, at the cost of slightly harder processing than lower-viscosity grades. Standard neoprene handling and storage practices (cool, dry, away from ozone/UV) apply.
Where chloroprene rubber cr2442 high viscosity is used
- High-strength contact adhesives for demanding structural bonds
- Heat-resistant adhesive formulations
- Adhesives requiring high body and low sag on vertical surfaces
- Industrial laminating and panel bonding
Key features
- CAS 9010-98-4.
- Packed to your requirement.
Specification and grade
Chloroprene rubber CR2442 in a high-viscosity form, CAS 9010-98-4. The elevated Mooney viscosity gives the finished adhesive more body, less sag on a vertical surface and higher heat resistance in the cured bond, at the cost of needing more solvent to reach a workable spreading viscosity.
Handling and storage
Store cool, dry and dark, off the floor. Because the grade needs a higher solvent ratio to dissolve, the compounding step carries proportionally more flammable solvent — ventilation and ignition control in the mixing area matter more with this grade than with a lower-viscosity one.
Packaging and supply
Packed to your requirement. State the target solids content and application viscosity on the enquiry; high-viscosity grades are frequently specified without allowing for the extra solvent they demand.

Common questions
What does high viscosity buy in the finished adhesive?
Body and heat resistance. A higher-molecular-weight polymer gives a bond that holds better at elevated temperature and an adhesive that does not sag when applied to a vertical surface.
What is the trade-off?
Solvent demand. Reaching a sprayable or brushable viscosity takes more solvent, which raises cost, VOC and drying time. If neither heat resistance nor sag resistance is critical, a lower-viscosity grade is usually the better economics.
Does it need a different stabiliser or filler package?
The additive chemistry is the same, but dispersion takes longer at higher viscosity and filler wetting is slower. Allow more mixing time rather than raising shear to the point of degrading the polymer.
