Description
Gandi Chemical Solutions supplies High Viscosity Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) SG3 (CAS 9002-86-2) to manufacturers, water treatment plants and industrial processors. SG3 is the high-molecular-weight resin, K-value 71–73, specified for flexible compounds that have to absorb a high plasticiser loading without going tacky. Enquiries for High Viscosity Poly Vinyl Chloride SG3 are quoted against this listing. Priced by quotation, with a current safety data sheet on every consignment.
SG3 is a higher-molecular-weight PVC grade, chosen for rigid applications needing greater impact strength and toughness, such as certain pipe and profile products, at the cost of requiring more processing energy than lower-K grades.
Where high viscosity poly vinyl chloride sg3 is used
- Flexible cable and wire insulation compounds
- Plasticised hose, tubing and profile extrusion
- Flexible sheet, membrane and flooring manufacture
- Artificial leather and coated fabric
- Applications requiring high plasticiser loading and elongation
Key features
- CAS 9002-86-2.
- Packed to your requirement.
Specification and grade
Suspension PVC resin, SG3 grade, CAS 9002-86-2, a high-molecular-weight resin with a K-value around 71–73. The higher degree of polymerisation gives better mechanical strength, higher elongation and — the key property for flexible compounds — a much greater capacity to absorb plasticiser without becoming sticky.
Handling and storage
Not classified as hazardous. Same moisture and thermal considerations as the other suspension grades, with the added point that high-molecular-weight resin needs more thermal and shear energy to fuse, so it runs closer to its degradation temperature. Stabiliser selection and screw design matter more here than with SG5. Keep it sealed and dry.
Packaging and supply
Packed to your requirement. Tell us the plasticiser loading you are targeting — SG3 is chosen for high-phr flexible compounds and specifying the finished hardness helps confirm the grade is right before an order is placed.

Common questions
Why does a flexible compound need a higher-molecular-weight resin?
Because it has to hold the plasticiser. A high-molecular-weight resin absorbs a high plasticiser loading and still gives a dry, non-tacky compound with good tensile strength and elongation. Using a general-purpose grade at the same loading produces a soft, sticky compound that blooms.
Is SG3 harder to process than SG5?
Yes. Higher molecular weight raises melt viscosity and fusion temperature, so it needs more shear and heat and runs closer to the degradation window. Screw design and the stabiliser package have to suit.
How does SG3 compare to a K-value specification?
SG3 corresponds roughly to K71–73. If your formulation is written against a K-value, quote that on the enquiry and we will match to it rather than to the SG designation alone.
